Microneedling by Dermaroller

Just how much are you willing to suffer for the sake of your skin and beauty? That’s normally the question. But thankfully not when we’re talking about dermarolling! When you have a dermaroller treatment it comes with a plethora of benefits depending on your needs. These include reducing the appearance of ;

  • Wrinkles (a non-invasive alternative to fillers)
  • Acne scarring
  • Hyper-pigmentation
  • Stretch marks
  • and Cellulite to name a few!

For those looking to improve the look of scars, boost collagen, or encourage hair growth, microneedling can offer a minimally invasive solution. The practice dates back to 1995, but has gained significant traction in recent years thanks to new technology.

How does microneedling work?

Simply put, microneedling is the insertion of very fine short needles into the skin for the purposes of rejuvenation. At Dr. Skin Laser we use the best (and most cost effective!) microneedling device, known as dermaroller (by dermaspark). It’s made up of micro-fine needles that range in diameter from 0.5 and 2.5 millimeters. But, if the prospect of multiple needle wounds sounds slightly ominous to you, know that the punctures are more like pin-pricks, even painless for some people, that enter only surface-level deep.

But what kind of results can I expect?

The recommended amount is 3 treatments, 6 weeks apart.
After each treatment session, your face will look red and plump for a couple of days. This is due to superficial swelling. Once this goes away, you will have radiant looking skin even after the first visit.

According to a 2008 study, skin treated with microneedling sessions produced up to a 400% increase in collagen and elastin six months after completing the set of treatments.
